Miguel Nicolelis is a neuroscientist at Duke University where he runs the Center for Neuroengineering. He’s “best known for his work with the rhesus monkey Aurora, who was able to play a video game using a robot arm directed only by her thoughts” but his work  includes various application of the same technology that allows to “read monkey thought” interpreting the monkey’s brain signals and that enables to use these signals to control robotic arms or legs or virtual arms by which the monkey “can grab virtual objects without using its arms. It can also feel the objects without its hands, because the headset stimulates its brain to create the sense of different textures.”
